Places People Love

What if the spaces we work in could actually help us thrive?

Places People Love is a social-design lab that reimagines workplace environments by reinventing how people interact with technology, culture, and physical space. In my cross-disciplinary role as brand strategist and product designer, I crafted the business strategy, developed web and print content, and nurtured our fledgling community—writing the manifesto, shaping our communications, and telling a compelling story. Within months, our small team attracted a passionate tribe of followers and secured our flagship project, re-designing WerkLab’s purpose-driven coworking space.

TL;DR

I created a holistic strategy that blends:

  • A bold mission (elevating indoor environments for wellbeing and connection)

  • A narrative‑driven brand identity rooted in design and organizational transformation

  • Community activation via storytelling and content

  • Evidence‑based design methods

  • An impact proposition tied to measurable outcomes in performance and culture

It’s a human‑centered, design‑driven strategy that positions Places People Love as both a creative movement and a practical business catalyst.

The strategy

Places People Love is a human-centered design ecosystem that uses physical environments as catalysts for social and organizational transformation. Rooted in connection, purpose, and wellbeing, the strategy reframes design as a regenerative force that nurtures talent, empowers users, and delivers measurable value to clients. By aligning data, creativity, and emotional intelligence within an ethical framework, PPL builds a dynamic marketplace for human capital—where tailored environments enhance personal growth, trust, and community. Through continuous feedback loops and intentional collaboration, the system evolves to create places people genuinely love—places that elevate life.

The why

90% of our lifetimes is spent indoors. Our daily environment has a great influence on our behaviour, mental and physical wellbeing. As creatives, we can use design as a tool for social innovation. In an increasingly lonely, segregated and unhealthy world, we can apply tools of human centred design to create a more engaged and healthy society. At the least, we can try.

PPL Icon Inspired by the Chinese Symbol ‘REN’

Confucius said: “...The humane man, desiring to be established himself, seeks to establish others; desiring himself to succeed, he helps others to succeed. To judge others by what one knows of oneself is the method of achieving humanity…

A house is just a space,
but a home is where you belong.

An office is just a space,
but your team is where you belong.

The story behind PPL

Places People Love was founded by 2 architects who wanted to change the way buildings were designed and used. Disappointed with the systems of thought and practice upon which they had to build their architectural careers, they decided to take destiny in their own hands.

Their belief was that by uniting design and organizational performance the ‘physical space’ can perform as a platform for social change. Applying a holistic design approach that optimizes human experiences, we evaluate the relationships between our physical, cultural and technological interactions and design environments that engage and elevate our human experience.

We believe in a world where our everyday places are not somewhere we need to go, but somewhere we want to be. Because of the people, because of the work we can do for others and because it's fun.

We asked ourselves the question:

How can the design process catalyze and elevate the potential for wellbeing?

Our four foundational principles:

Our manifesto

To everyone who shapes the world today

It’s no secret; the world is in trouble. Technology is consuming society. Loneliness and stress are a growing epidemic.

It is time to take responsibility for the world we are creating.
Time to put people before business.
Time to write a better story!

Our story is about places, about people & about love.

Places

Places are the canvas for the stories of our lives. It's the one thing we all share - the stage for meaningful moments that will become memories which make us who we are as individuals and who we become as a society.

A house becomes a place we can call home.
A school becomes a place for friendship & self-growth.
An office becomes a place for community & collaboration.

Every day we spend our precious time in places that offer a chance to celebrate life. We would like to build the most inspirational places in the world and for that we need people like you!

People

We are bringing together people from different background, culture & country to share experience and knowledge - to shape a world that is filled with belonging, understanding and empathy.

Our methods are fresh and inspiring.
We brake rules. We think different. We innovate.
Not for the sake of the ego, but for the sake of society.
We all agree that only our collective imagination can cure the planet.

Love

Places are like people. Our relationships are both complex and powerful. But what binds us together is love.

Places are cherished when our experiences are memorable. People shape the places and after the places shape the people.

Let us write the story of collaboration and connection.
A global system of creative spirit to reignite our humaneness.

Empathy as the cornerstone of organizational design

We connect design to organizational performance by seeing ‘space’ as a platform for social change. A holistic design approach to optimal human experience that evaluates the relationships between our physical, cultural and technological interactions in a work setting. By uniting collective intelligence with feedback from big data and scientific research, we can make informed design decisions at any challenging moment of organizational growth.
