Aussie Cabin
This urban cabin was designed and built as part of a co-live&work experiment in the beach-side neighbourhood of Melbourne, Australia. The idea for the cabin was inspired by Eva, a social entrepreneur with a heart of gold and a bottomless pit of ideas around social innovation. Eva enjoyed regularly receiving guests from all over the world and wanted to create a place for them to stay.
She had unused space in her garden and decided to repurpose her unused car port into a multi-functional cabin where you can sleep, work, meditate, relax or even dance.
90% of the cabin is constructed with reclaimed or repurposed materials. The windows and door were gifts from neighbours, while the timber facade cladding was recuperated from a fallen fence. The cabin is fully insulated and the interior layout can easily be modified to suit the needs of the activity.
