Telford High-Rise

This project is located in the Metrotown neighbourhood in Burnaby. The site is part of the downtown Metrotown plan, which proposes a significant increase in density to this existing low-rise residential area.

The development is composed of a high-rise Strata Residential Tower and a low-rise Residential Rental Building. Parking is accessed from the lane using a shared ramp. After considering potential future neighbouring developments as well as reviewing various massing options for the site, the design approach proposes the distinct two residential uses composed of separate buildings around a central communal landscape space. The buildings share a cohesive design language at the first 6 storeys, which transitions up the Strata tower to create an iconic architectural character.
